How a driver agrees to calls, and what about texts
We do not send text messages yet. No applicant receives a text from cdlhr.ai today, whatever they tick on the application page. This page shows the separate call and optional SMS consent in the application form. When texting starts, this page will say so.
What the application page asks for today
A CDL driver reaches cdlhr.ai by applying to a specific trucking employer, on an application page that carries that employer's name. The page asks for a mobile phone number and shows two boxes, both unticked when the page opens:
- The consent box, which has to be ticked to submit the application, because the screening call is how the application is processed. Its wording is: "By applying you agree to receive a call from [EMPLOYER NAME] about this job"
- A separate SMS consent box, which is optional. Its exact wording is shown below. Ticking it records SMS consent separately from call consent. We send nothing on it today.
The screening call is placed by our automated voice agent on behalf of that employer. Before any question it says that it is automated and that the call is recorded. Our consent revocation policy explains how to stop the calls.
The optional SMS consent
The application form uses the wording below, with the employer name filled in. The box starts unticked, is separate from call consent, and is not a condition of submitting the application.
What will happen once texting starts
An applicant who ticks that box will receive one confirmation message first, carrying our brand name, the message frequency, the rates disclosure, how to get help and how to stop. Later messages will be about that application only. It will read:
cdlhr.ai: Thanks for applying to [EMPLOYER NAME]. You will get texts about this application. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help, STOP to opt out.
Replying STOP to any of those messages will stop texts, and it will also stop screening calls about that application. Replying HELP, or emailing support@cdlhr.ai, will get help.
An applicant's phone number goes to the one employer they applied to (the employer they chose) and no further. It is not shared with other employers on our platform, not sold, and not shared with anyone for marketing. Their SMS opt-in and the record behind it are not sold, and are not shared with anyone for marketing.
